itinerary
Transfer from Ust-Kamenogorsk to Katon-Karagay District (400 km) to the village of Uryl. Along the way, we will conquer a dangerous serpentine road, taste the most delicious chebureks, see sunflower fields, and, if the weather permits, take a dip in the Bukhtarma Reservoir, take photos with the majestic marals at the entrance to the Katon-Karagay District, and by evening, arrive in the village of Uryl with light fatigue. We will spend the night at the "Shakarim" guesthouse.
After breakfast, we will head to Lake Yazevoe in off-road vehicles (Japanese 4x4 VANs), equipped with all necessary hiking gear. En route, we will see the Berel Kurgans (burial sites and the tomb of a Scythian queen), then hike along the White Berel trail leading to Mount Belukha. In the village of Yazevka, we will arrange all necessary permits and documents, witness the stunning Yazevoe waterfall cascade, and reach Lake Yazevoe. After lunch, we'll begin the hiking tour. Each tour participant will be provided with a horse to carry equipment. We will leave camping gear, supplies, and food for packhorses. Today's route is 25 km, and we'll decide with the team how much we'll hike and how much we'll ride horses. Horses will always be with us, and guides will lead them. By evening, we will reach the White Berel River valley, where we'll set up tents in the Sarsenbai area.
After camping overnight, we'll have breakfast and start a 25 km route through hills, small fords, picturesque greenish lakes, and an old bridge over the White Berel River. The group will cross the bridge on foot while horses will ford the river. By evening, we'll arrive at the Lower Camp, where we'll see Kazakhstan's highest waterfall - Koksol. Here we'll set up camp and spend the night.
We wake up to the beauty and power of the local landscape: towering mountains, milky rivers, waterfalls, and wise coniferous trees. After breakfast, we embark on a 2.5 km hike to watch the sunrise at Lake "Ravnovesie". Those who wish can swim. Then we return to camp for lunch and head to the foot of Belukha, 5 km away, to recharge with mountain energy. In good weather, we can take a dip in a warm lake along the way. Upon arrival, we admire the majestic and untouched Belukha and immediately make a wish at the prayer stone. Then we return to camp for dinner after trekking.
We greet the morning at the Lower Camp like true adventurers. Early in the morning, we spend our final moments admiring the Koksol waterfall. Then we embark on the 25 km return journey on horseback. Arriving at the Sarsenbai valley, we set up camp, have dinner, and spend the night.
After waking up in Sarsenbai, we set off. By evening, we need to reach Lake Yazevoe, where a car will be waiting for us. Upon arrival, we once again enjoy the view of the snowy Belukha before heading to Uryl, to the guesthouse "Shakarim". In the evening, a hearty dinner and a sauna await us.
We greet the morning in Uryl. After breakfast, we head to the Rahmanov Springs, enjoy the local beauty, take photos, and recharge. After lunch, we head to the "Radostny" pass, from where we can see the magnificent Belukha or hike to the picturesque Veronica Waterfall. Upon returning from the pass or waterfall, we leave Rahmanov Springs and return home to Uryl by evening, where a delicious dinner awaits us.
After the Belukha tour, we wake up, have breakfast with natural products, pack our belongings, and head to Ust-Kamenogorsk. In Katon-Karagay, at the market, you can buy various spices, kumis, honey, nuts, and more. On the way back, we stop at the Bukhtarma Reservoir, where we swim, fish, and return to the city with unforgettable memories and light fatigue.
One day is reserved as a buffer, as weather conditions in the mountains can deteriorate significantly, and we may fall behind schedule.
